Egate User Eligibility:
The Egate system is designed to streamline the entry process for foreign business and social travelers visiting Malaysia. To be eligible for Egate access, individuals must meet certain criteria outlined below:
- Nationality: Egate is available to travelers from 10 specific countries. For the updated list of eligible countries, please refer to the infographic displayed on the home page of the Egate website.
- Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC): Prior to arrival, all Egate users are required to submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) at least 3 days in advance. This requirement applies to all travelers except Malaysia Permanent Residence (PR) and Malaysia Long Term Pass holders.
- Biometric Enrollment: To utilize the Egate facility, users must enroll their biometric information, specifically their fingerprints, at the designated counter upon arrival. This process is essential for identity verification and enhanced security measures.
- e-Passport Holder: Only individuals holding an e-Passport are eligible for Egate access. An e-Passport contains a digital chip that securely stores personal information and facilitates automated border control processes.
